Hey, Hey, what?

So I grew up with a show called Hey Hey its Saturday.
It was on about 10 years ago, and it was awesome.

It was on for a long time before i started watching it, and even before i was born (!!) but the time slots that it was on in changed a lot.

I loved it.

It WAS my childhood.

I have memories of when i was much much younger of having to go to bed when it finished and hoping every week that it went overtime, cause then i could stay up later. Then later on, as i got older, i got to watch the Saturday night movie after it.

Anyway, it was taken off air a while ago, and some people wanted it back on so bad, that they started a facebook group.
They succeeded and we got two reunion shows on a Wednesday night. (I'm guessing for ratings it wasn't put on a Saturday night.)

Now, lets all remember that this show started in the 70s.
It had a good 25+ year run.
That alone tells you that it was good.

As Wiki tells us:
'The presenters' constant ad-libbing and subversive humour (often laced with double entendre) soon attracted a cult following among younger and older viewers alike.'

It was something for the WHOLE family that kids could understand but had an adult 'secret jokes'. I don't think any show has been like that since.

Now, i started writing this post thinking that i was going to get into the whole hoopla that has been going on about a segment on the last show.

But to be honest, i don't get it.

Maybe im naive or something, but i think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion and it would really really suck if this wonderful show is not put on air, or is put on air,
but is altered because of it.

I just love that i got to be a child again and watch an awesome, fun, amusing show.

If you want to know more about Hey Hey, and even laugh at some of the get ups they wore during the shows, check it out here.
